Leah go round

Over Memorial Day weekend we took Leah on her first carousel ride in the Park.  She was surprisingly. . . not psyched.  But she did react to the music!

Her arms went up and they were swinging the whole time.  

Not one smile.  

But those arms were moving!

This is after the ride.  She's still unsure what to think although she is pretty sure she did NOT have a good time. 

Here - the music is blasting - the merry go round is going around and she is dancing but very serious about it.

Leah got a new sun hat (thanks, Grandma Mel!) and of course, it had to be modeled before its first use as we ventured out to the playground on 5th Avenue.

Perhaps we have started a nice new tradition (we won't know until next year, of course).

Mother's day = a day at the beach!!

Leah's growing up and changing.  For example, her sleep. 

She used to nap in her crib at least two times a day.  Now we're lucky to get one long one from her.  This isn't great news so we have taken to bringing her out for a stroll every now and then with our real motive being not the roll of paper towels or new toothbrush we've purchased but to get little Lee to drift off to nap land.

Leah pulls herself up now and holds on to all sorts of items around the house.  Here she is holding herself up using the side of a toy chest.  Nice work, Leah!
